John Denver is a popular musician and singer who has touched a multitude of people through his songs. A lot of them are based on Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico he fell in love with Colorado and eventually settled in Aspen. Denver's songs that he sang about his state of origin brought many others to make the move to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame stated it was because John Denver is the only artist to represent Colorado. Denver was the Hall of Fame's first to be inducted into the hall. Denver is the symbol of Colorado to a large number of people throughout the world. When I travel, I always come across someone from another continent, a person comes from New Zealand and you say 'I'm from Colorado and the very first thing that comes they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short period of performing with small folk groups was Take Me Home Country Roads co-written with Bill Danoff. Danoff originally wrote it by putting Johnny Cash's song in his mind, but Denver was aware from the very first time he listened to the earlier versions that the track would be a big hit. The artist recorded the song within a couple of days after performing it to crowds of enthusiastic fans in Washington D.C.
